Chef Ron Moon
With more than 30 years of culinary experience, Chef Ron Moon is the Executive Chef at Frank O’Dowd’s Irish Pub & Grill located in The Irish Cottage Boutique Hotel.
He began his culinary career at Walt Disney Culinary School and later attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York., graduating at the top of his class.
Chef Ron attributes his love for cooking to his grandmother, who had her own restaurant and cooked excellent meals at home. He especially enjoys preparing fresh seafood—his grandfather and great uncle were lobster fisherman in Maine.
Chef Ron has worked for numerous restaurants over the years including Commander’s Palace in New Orleans—where he had the honor of studying under Emeril Lagasse. He often draws inspiration from his time in New Orleans infusing his food with Cajun flavors.
Chef Ron is married to Cathy and has four children.
