The Great Galena Peddlery
With a passion for food, Patricia Lehnhardt always thought she would have her own restaurant. However, in the early 1980s, Patricia found herself in Galena, Illinois, opening an antique shop with a few herbs and dried flowers. Over the years, the antiques have remained as display items and the shop has evolved into an extensive specialty store offering hundreds of teas and all the wares to go with it, over a hundred herbs and spices from all over the world, gourmet foods and hard-to-find ingredients.
Patricia's love for food is prevalent in her other endeavors. Her second Galena-based business, The Great Galena Cookery, offers hands-on cooking classes, private cooking parties, and intimate 5-course dinners.
She's even written and self-published a cookbook titled Beans.Rice.Grains: Cooking with Stone featuring dishes prepared using historic soapstone cookware.
